What Does “Histoire De" Mean?

You are probably wondering where we got the title of this blog from?

Well, from our everyday French expressions. Indeed, the expression “histoire de" has been part of our familiar register since the beginning of the 20th century. Whether used alone or with a verb introducing the complement to our thoughts it means “just because / just so”.

  • I’ll have one more beer just so we can make a toast.
  • I’ll stop by Rosalie’s on my way back just because.

We thought it was the best title to share everything we can about French-speaking culture just so you know more about its huge legacy and practice French in a different context.
